Meaning ‘hill of peat’ in Gaelic, Cnoc Na Mòine is an elegantly peated single malt released as the third chapter in Torabhaig’s Legacy Series, which charts the journey to an eventual 10-year-old expression. Marking the first time that the Torabhaig spirit has been matured in sherry casks, the expression has benefited from aging in a combination of Oloroso, PX and bourbon casks. Bottled at 46% abv.
On the nose, aromas of orange peel and dying embers give way to vanilla and freshly sawn oak and lead on to a palate full of peat smoke. Touches of pepper, balsamic acidity and gentle spice reveal themselves, alongside cedar wood and leather, before a finish of peat smoke and signature Torabhaig spice.
