The property’s clay-limestone soils on the hillsides of Saint-Étienne-de-Lisse provide an ideal terroir for Merlot-dominant blends, complemented by Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon. The Decosters emphasize meticulous vineyard management and sustainable practices, favoring hand-harvesting and plot-by-plot vinification to express each parcel’s character. Their philosophy centers on precision and respect for both land and tradition, resulting in wines with depth and elegance that reflect their specific location within Saint-Émilion Grand Cru Classé. In addition to their flagship wine, Château Fleur Cardinale also produces Intuition de Fleur Cardinale as a second label, offering a more approachable expression of their terroir while maintaining a focus on quality rooted in Bordeaux’s right bank heritage.
