Tasting Notes and Characteristics:Catena Appellation La Consulta Malbec offers a plush, velvety mouthfeel that makes it an inviting choice for both casual gatherings and special dinners. With an ABV of 13.5%, this wine is crafted in Argentina’s Uco Valley, where high-altitude vineyards contribute to its vibrant character. The meticulous production process focuses on expressing the unique terroir of La Consulta, resulting in a Malbec that stands out for its balance and depth. On the palate, you’ll find rich notes of ripe blackberry, plum, and subtle hints of violet layered with gentle spice and cocoa undertones. These flavors make it a natural partner for grilled steak, as the wine’s structure complements the meat’s charred edges while its fruitiness lifts each bite. It also pairs beautifully with aged cheddar; the cheese’s sharpness highlights the Malbec’s dark fruit profile and smooth tannins for a harmonious finish.Producer Information: Catena ZapataCatena Zapata is based in Mendoza, Argentina, at the foothills of the Andes Mountains.
