Rittenhouse 10 Year Bottled in Bond Rye 250th Anniversary
Celebrate two and a half centuries of American independence with the landmark Rittenhouse 10-Year Bottled-in-Bond Straight Rye Whiskey (United States 250th Anniversary Commemorative Edition). Distilled by Heaven Hill Distillery—guardians of traditional Monongahela-style rye heritage—this limited-edition release elevates one of America’s most iconic, historic rye labels into an extraordinary extra-aged decade-old masterpiece.
Available now at World of Whiskey Shop, this commemorative 250th anniversary edition honors the legacy of David Rittenhouse, Pennsylvania’s famous 18th-century astronomer, clockmaker, and Treasurer of the Revolution. While classic Rittenhouse is traditionally aged for 4 years, this ultra-rare expression rested for a full 10 years in charred oak rickhouses. Distilled in a single distilling season at a single distillery and matured under strict federal standards, it is bottled in bond at a commanding 100 Proof (50% ABV). Utilizing Heaven Hill’s famed high-rye mash bill (51% rye, 35% corn, and 14% malted barley), it delivers a darker, bolder, and far more refined taste profile.
In the glass, it displays a deep amber-mahogany hue with thick, slow-falling legs. The nose opens with an inviting bouquet of dark red berries, toasted rye bread, and sweet brown sugar, layered over aged leather, pipe tobacco, and seasoned oak staves. On the palate, a rich, full-bodied, and velvety mouthfeel unleashes expressive flavors of dark caramel, toasted pecans, candied orange peel, and spicy baking spices, masterfully balanced by cracked black pepper, dark cocoa, and lingering mint undertones. Bottled at 100 proof, the finish is remarkably long, warm, and sophisticated, fading slowly with echoes of charred oak, dark fruit compote, and delicate rye spice.
