The Port Ellen 1978, part of Diageo’s annual Special Releases for 2016, is a natural cask strength whisky matured in both refill European oak and refill American hogsheads. The legendary distillery can’t have much whisky left, but the 37 Year Old is, in fact, the oldest ever bottling of the brand’s single malt.
