Hennessy Camp Romain Single Distillery Cognac
Hennessy, a renowned producer of fine Cognac, presents the Romain Single Distillery expression, a distinguished offering from its Single Distillery Collection first introduced in 1999. This collection highlights the unique attributes derived from individual distilleries, making the Romain Single Distillery a notable selection for its singular origin. The Camp Romain estate, a pivotal location in the Cognac region of France, is a significant source of grapes for Hennessy Cognacs.
The Cognac is a product of the Cognac region in France, where the Camp Romain distillery itself was established in 1907. It is situated on the historical grounds of a former Roman army camp near a road constructed by Emperor Agrippa. This Cognac is distilled by Betty Lesueur, recognized as one of the few women distillers in the Cognac region. The production primarily utilizes Ugni Blanc grapes, known for their suitability for distillation. Following traditional methods, the wine undergoes double distillation in copper pot stills, and the resulting eaux-de-vie are then aged in French oak barrels to develop their characteristics. This is a non-vintage Cognac.
This Hennessy Camp Romain Single Distillery Cognac is presented in a 750ml bottle, with an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 40%.
