Producer Information
Campagnola is a large producer based in the Valpolicella Classico wine region of Veneto, Italy. The business manages vineyards and works in partnership with winegrowers in the regions of Valpolicella, Bardolino, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Soave. It has recently added an estate in Abruzzo The family’s winemaking origins in the Marano di Valpolicella valley can be traced back to 1907, when Caterina Zardini inherited sole management of the estate on the death of her husband, Carlo Campagnola. In the 1940s, their son Giuseppe Campagnola relocated the family business to its present location in the village of Valgatara, in Valpolicella Classico. Here, he constructed the wine cellar that is still used for the aging of Campagnola Valpolicella wines today. Campagnola underwent significant expansion in the 1970s when it added further expressions of northeastern Italian wines to its portfolio. In the 1990s, focus turned more towards the production of high-quality Valpolicella wines. Today the company farms and collaborates with winegrowers to cultivate approximately 80 hectares (198 acres) of vineyards in the Valpolicella zone. Elsewhere in the Veneto it works with 30ha (74 acres) in Bardolino, and 20ha (49 acres) of vines in Soave. In other regions, Campagnola has a vineyard in Friuli-Venezia Giulia and a recently acquired property in Abruzzo.
