A legendary vintage bourbon from the golden era of Stitzel-Weller, distilled in 1959 and aged for 12 years under strict Bottled-in-Bond standards. The “Gold Vein” designation refers to the distinctive gold threading on the label and neck—an iconic marker of premium Old Fitzgerald releases. This is classic wheated bourbon at its peak: rich, balanced, and deeply expressive, produced during the Pappy Van Winkle era when quality standards were uncompromising. Bottles like this are now highly collectible, representing some of the most revered American whiskey ever made.

Distillery Information
Old Fitzgerald was the flagship brand of the historic Stitzel-Weller Distillery, founded in Kentucky and closely associated with Julian “Pappy” Van Winkle. During the mid-20th century, the distillery produced some of the finest wheated bourbons ever made, emphasizing smoothness and balance over aggressive spice. The Bottled-in-Bond designation guaranteed quality, requiring the whiskey to be from a single distillation season, aged at least four years, and bottled at 100 proof. The “Very Very Old” line represented the upper tier of the range, often aged significantly longer than standard releases. These gold vein bottles from the late 1950s and 1960s are now considered among the most collectible bourbons in existence. Today, they stand as historical artifacts of American whiskey’s most revered production era—valued as much for their legacy as for the liquid inside.
