Distillery Information
High West Distillery, founded in 2006 in Park City, Utah, is known for pioneering the modern American blending approach in whiskey. The distillery quickly gained recognition for combining sourced and in-house spirits to create unique expressions that highlight balance and innovation. Bourye, originally released as a play on “bourbon” and “rye,” became one of their most sought-after limited releases before its hiatus and eventual revival. High West emphasizes blending as an art form, carefully selecting barrels to achieve consistency across batches while still allowing subtle variation. Their high-elevation aging environment contributes to a distinctive maturation profile, with pronounced temperature swings influencing flavor development. The 2026 release of Bourye continues this legacy, offering a refined, well-integrated whiskey that showcases the best of both rye and bourbon traditions.
