The debut release from Shindo Distillery in Fukuoka, Kyushu, this non-peated single malt Japanese whisky was created using a cask make up comprising 91% bourbon, 4% new Mizunara, 4% Oloroso sherry, and 1% Scotch refill. Shindo employs a distinctive dual-yeast fermentation process to develop multi-layered aromas, all guided by the expertise of Kenji Hosoi, former Director of Nikka Whisky’s technical development centre.
Bottled at 50% abv, expect bright tropical fruit notes lead on the nose, followed by a sweet, buttery oriental character, with a finish of toffee and milky warmth.
