A first for Australian brand Starward, this release was made in collaboration with Scottish distillery, Lagavulin. First matured in red wine barrels, Starward’s liquid was then given a further 18 months resting time in Lagavulin’s traditionally Islay-peated ex barrels, producing a wonderfully unique final dram.
Bottled at 48% abv, the result is a delightfully rich whisky highlighting red berries, nectarines and charred pineapple with a distinct coastal peat and smouldering dry oak finish.
