True to the strict bottling ethos of the Scotch Malt Whisky Society, this expression is non-chill filtered, naturally colored, and drawn straight from the barrel at an extraordinary cask strength (typically hovering around 58% to 62% ABV). Single-cask releases from the Society are produced in strictly limited quantities—often yielding fewer than 200 bottles worldwide—making every bottle a unique snapshot of time, wood, and grain.
In the glass, it displays a deep, glowing mahogany-amber hue with slow, heavy legs. The nose opens with an explosive, complex aroma of dark brown sugar, toasted rye crust, and sweet pipe tobacco, accompanied by aromatic notes of dried cherries, polished mahogany, leather, and sharp cinnamon.
