Available now at World of Whiskey Shop, Elijah Craig Small Batch is produced at Heaven Hill Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky. Crafted from a traditional mash bill of 78% corn, 13% rye, and 9% malted barley, each release is artfully drawn from a select grouping of 200 barrels or fewer. These barrels are matured in historic open-rick brick warehouses, where years of Kentucky season changes draw out deep oak sugars, rich amber color, and signature spice notes from Level 3 charred oak staves.
In the glass, it displays a deep, warm copper-amber hue. The nose opens with an inviting, fragrant bouquet of fresh fruit, sweet vanilla, and honeycomb, underlaid by distinct notes of toasted oak, baking spices, and dark caramel. On the palate, a smooth, full-bodied mouthfeel unleashes rich layers of cooked apple, wild honey, toasted pecan, and brown sugar, balanced by a gentle pop of rye spice, nutmeg, and smoked wood. Bottled at 94 Proof (47% ABV), the finish is long, warm, and refined, slowly fading with lingering notes of sweet oak spice and subtle cocoa.
