Dom Pérignon proudly presents the limited-edition 2015 Vintage Champagne, paying tribute to the legendary artist Jean-Michel Basquiat. This special edition embodies the spirit of innovation, heritage, and renewal, blending the artistry of Basquiat with Dom Pérignon’s legacy of precision and craftsmanship. The collaboration celebrates the meeting of two iconic worlds, where the intensity of creative assemblage brings both the champagne and the artwork to life.
For this tribute, Dom Pérignon selected Basquiat’s enigmatic and powerful piece, In Italian (1983). Much like the art of champagne-making, Basquiat’s work thrives on the careful selection and assemblage of elements—each chosen for its raw material quality, creating a bold and unforgettable sensory experience. The packaging design mirrors this philosophy, featuring three distinct boxes, each representing a part of the painting. When brought together, the coffrets reassemble into a unified artwork, echoing Basquiat’s unique approach to layering and storytelling.
The bottles themselves are adorned with a hybrid emblem: Basquiat’s iconic three-branched crown seamlessly interwoven with the Dom Pérignon shield. Available in three color variants, the bottle selected for your order will be chosen at random, adding an extra layer of discovery and delight with each purchase.
Tasting Notes
The 2015 Vintage Dom Pérignon is a symphony of fine bubbles, offering a refined balance of freshness and depth. Aromas of ripe stone fruits, citrus zest, and toasty brioche lead to a vibrant palate with layers of minerality, white flowers, and a touch of almond. Its creamy mousse and elegant acidity give way to a long, harmonious finish, ensuring a luxurious experience from start to finish.
A Special Edition – The Art of Assemblage
In both the art of Dom Pérignon and the legacy of Jean-Michel Basquiat, assemblage plays a central role. Just as the precise selection of grapes creates the depth of Dom Pérignon, Basquiat’s layering of textures, symbols, and vibrant colors builds an equally compelling aesthetic. This limited edition is a true celebration of craftsmanship and artistry.
How to Store Your Champagne
For optimal aging, store your Dom Pérignon bottle in a cool, dark place, ideally between 45-65°F (7-18°C), and avoid any exposure to light or drastic temperature changes. The bottle can age gracefully for years, enhancing its complexity over time.
Please Note: The bottle color may be selected at random for each order, based on availability.
