The Perfect Pairing For Rich Gastronomy: A Rare 1985 Pineau
An excellent addition to your collection, the Chateau de Beaulon Collection Privée 1985 “Or 30 Years Old” Pineau is perfect for serving alongside fruity dishes and desserts. Aged for 30 years in Tronçais oak casks, this gourmet bottle from the Charente is made from beautifully ripened and dominant Sémillion and Sauvignon grapes.
Slightly fermented and matured, this is a very rare Vintage, and should be enjoyed slowly. If you haven’t discovered this stunning drink yet, now is the time to branch out and discover the beauties of the Charente region. Crafted using very own methods, the grapes are harvested and distilled carefully.
While the Chateau de Beaulon are predominantly Cognac producers, they produce their own private collection of Pineau – and have selected one of their rarest bottles to share with us.
Expect a palette of baking spice aromas such as cloves and cinnamon on the nose, which develops into luxurious notes of stewed fruit and honey on the palate.
The finish is impeccably balanced thanks to more than three decades spent aging in oak from the Tronçais forest.

How to Enjoy
Originally enjoyed as a festive wine, Pineau is a gourmet delight and often enjoyed as an aperitif – however it is a truly complex and multifaceted drink, that can be sipped in a number of ways.
Serve it at the table with refined dishes such as lightly baked goose liver, or with desserts such as baked pears au gratin, citrus fruit zabaglione, exotic fruit desserts.
We recommend enjoying it around 5pm, or after dinner. Serve it chilled at 14 degrees Celsius to bring out its most delectable notes.
