Tasting Notes and Characteristics:The first sip of Bogle Essential Red wraps you in a plush embrace of ripe blackberries, dark cherries, and a hint of cocoa, instantly evoking the warmth of a summer evening. Crafted in the United States with an alcohol by volume of 13.5%, this red blend brings together classic California grapes for a lush, fruit-forward experience balanced by subtle spice and velvety tannins. Its bold character stands up beautifully to smoky barbecue ribs or the creamy richness of Gouda cheese, making it an effortless companion for hearty meals and lively gatherings alike.Producer Information: Bogle VineyardsBogle Vineyards, rooted in the fertile soils of Clarksburg, California, traces its origins to the late 1960s when the Bogle family began cultivating wine grapes along the Sacramento River Delta. Founded officially as a winery in 1979 by Warren and Chris Bogle, this family-owned producer has built its reputation on sustainable farming practices and a hands-on approach to winemaking that highlights the unique terroir of California’s Delta region. Their philosophy centers on crafting approachable wines with expressive varietal character, achieved through careful vineyard management and minimal intervention in the cellar. Beyond their flagship Old Vine Zinfandel, Bogle offers a diverse portfolio including Petite Sirah, Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Sauvignon Blanc—each reflecting Clarksburg’s cool evening breezes and rich alluvial soils. While their focus remains firmly on value-driven California wines rather than spirits or liquors, Bogle’s commitment to quality across red and white varietals has made them a staple for those seeking authentic expressions of Northern California viticulture.
