Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Pinot Noir 2022
Indulge in one of California’s most iconic, opulent, and lushly structured single-vineyard wines with Belle Glos Clark & Telephone Vineyard Pinot Noir 2022. Crafted by fifth-generation winemaker Joseph Wagner—grandson of Caymus Vineyards founder Charlie Wagner—Belle Glos is legendary for producing full-throttled, deeply concentrated Pinot Noirs that push the boundaries of coastal winemaking.
Available now at World of Whiskey Shop, the 2022 Clark & Telephone Vineyard expression hails from Santa Barbara County’s cool, foggy Santa Maria Valley. Planted in 1972 on its own roots, the historic Clark & Telephone Vineyard benefits from heavy marine fog and cool ocean breezes sweeping inland, allowing for an exceptionally long growing season. Hand-harvested at peak ripeness and aged in 100% French oak barrels (60% new), this Pinot Noir showcases extraordinary depth, velvety texture, and intense fruit concentration, crowned in Belle Glos’s signature hand-dipped red wax seal.
In the glass, it pours a dark, deep ruby-garnet color with violet reflections. The nose opens with a rich, aromatic explosion of fresh blackberry, wild bramble, dark cherry, and boysenberry jam, beautifully intertwined with notes of sweet vanilla bean, cinnamon stick, toasted oak, and a subtle touch of dried lavender. On the palate, a plush, full-bodied mouthfeel unleashes luxurious layers of dark red and black fruits, chocolate-covered cherries, warm baking spices, and subtle baking cocoa, supported by soft, round tannins and balanced acidity. Bottled at 14.7% ABV, the finish is remarkably long, smooth, and memorable, slowly fading with lingering notes of sweet dark berry compote, toasted French oak, and brown sugar.
