Process & Profile
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon is a Bottled in Bond Kentucky straight bourbon whiskey from Buffalo Trace Distillery. Aged in the historic Warehouse C, which was built by Colonel Edmund Haynes Taylor, Jr. in 1881, this bourbon is selected one barrel at a time to highlight individual barrel character, depth, and balance. Because each bottle comes from a single hand-selected barrel, the profile can vary slightly from barrel to barrel while still staying true to the E.H. Taylor style.
Bottled at 100 proof, Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon delivers a classic bonded bourbon structure with a fuller texture and more concentrated flavor than many lower-proof whiskeys. The profile leans rich and traditional, with caramel, vanilla, oak, spice, and fruit notes supported by the strength and character expected from the E.H. Taylor lineup. How to Enjoy
Colonel E.H. Taylor, Jr. Single Barrel Bourbon is best enjoyed neat in a whiskey tasting glass so its barrel-specific character can open slowly. Let it rest for a few minutes before sipping to bring forward the caramel, vanilla, oak, spice, and fruit notes. A few drops of water can soften the 100 proof structure and reveal more sweetness and aromatic depth.
This bourbon also works well over a large ice cube for a slower, more relaxed pour. While it can be used in premium bourbon cocktails, many collectors and E.H. Taylor fans prefer to enjoy it neat because each bottle reflects the personality of a single selected barrel.
