Michter’s 20 Year Old 2025 Edition Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: Sumptuous dried fruit and rich caramel top notes, with toasted oak, vanilla bean, warm spice, and hints of dark chocolate and orange zest.
Palate: Velvety and layered — brown sugar, molasses, and honeyed toffee interlace with baking spice, baked apple, cedar, and light tobacco, balanced by refined oak depth and silky grain.
Finish: Long, warm, and harmonious — lingering oak spice, dark fruit, sweet vanilla, and a soft, enduring warmth that gently fades.
Distillery Information
Michter’s has its roots in American whiskey history dating back to the 18th century, though the modern distillery was re-established in the 1990s with a focus on producing small batches of exceptionally refined spirits. The team sources high-quality grain, uses careful fermentation practices, and ages its distillate in hand-selected charred barrels under attentive maturation — all to achieve rich, nuanced character and balance. The 20 Year Old 2025 Edition embodies this philosophy, representing two decades of slow, patient interaction with oak and time, resulting in a bourbon with remarkable complexity, smoothness, and depth. Bottled at a measured proof that preserves nuance, it’s designed for contemplative sipping neat, celebrating both age and craftsmanship.
